One of the topics at the annual North Carolina Family Law Specialists conference I am attending is homosexuality and domestic law.
The speaker asked whether there were any attorneys in the room who still believed that Amendment One would have any effect on domestic violence laws. Not one person raised their hand. Keep in mind that this is a conference of the family law elite.
The speaker admitted that before the Amendment was passed she was posting on Facebook about the dire effect Amendment One would have on domestic violence laws, but hadn't really examined the arguments. Her exact words today were "apparently it was not the big deal" that it was made out to be.
I wrote before that all of the doomsday predictions about Amendment One were political scare tactics and the legal analysis was flawed.
Apparently my colleagues have finally conceded as much.
Hey! Congratulations! You manage to continue to justify a position your children will mock.

Ah, the troll speaks.
We point fingers and laugh.

Hmmmm...seems the only "mocking" being done for the last couple hundred years has been by the 2% or so of our citizens who are homosexual.
You're a small minority in a big ocean, Roch. Get over it.

Actually what I did was inform readers about the veracity of legal arguments according to the people most qualified to render an opinion.
The fact that it confirms my own legal arguments is a justification of only that.

"The fact that it confirms my own legal arguments is a justification of only that."
Doesn't matter to people like Roch, who say you're still wrong and still a bigot on this issue. That's in addition to all the other pejorative labels these always righteous, never wrong "progressives" love to fling around.
That's the privilege they assume from atop their non-existent moral high ground of superior and enlightened thought.

I don't know why the fact that A1 has no effect on domestic violence laws is a form of bigotry but I guess it could be a problem for the logically challenged.

Logic doesn't count with the Loony Tooners. How mny times have we seen people like Roch stretch things out of proportion in order to fit the need for a talking point?
