Our friend Rich Brenner has passed away. He will be missed. He was a principled guy, always enthusiastic, and he never stopped working for what he believed in.
My condolences to his family, our friends at WGHP, and everyone who was affected by his life. Rich influenced a whole generation of sports reporters, not to mention he was also a loyal conservative.
Rich Brenner was 65, but his constant energy made him seem younger. I am confident he is in heaven right now watching the rest of the Daytona 500 with Dale Earnhardt.
WZTK's Britt Whitmire also offers a nice tribute.
Rich's friends at News 2 pay homage.
Met him at the 2006 Orange Bowl WFU was in. The most personable, down-to-earth 'famous' person I have ever met--talked mine and my wife's ear off. Some people you can just tell.
