Scarborough's Hypocritical Attack On Palin

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough has gone on the offensive against Sarah Palin- a potential rival for the GOP presidential nomination if either gets in the race:

"After all, these disconnected “blue bloods” had nothing in their backgrounds that could ever make them understand “real America” like a former governor from Alaska who quit in the middle of her first term and then got rich."

Not so fast, Joe. 

"Palin and Scarborough have something else in common, too. Both resigned from office to move into the more lucrative private sector, Palin half-way through her term as governor and Scarborough just four months into a two-year term in the House. Pot, meet kettle."

Hillary's Quest

It sure appears to me that Hillary Clinton's questions about Argentinian President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner were more about Clinton's own psyche and insecurities about her own life and position than Kirchner's:

"How is Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner managing her nerves and anxiety?" asked a cable dated Dec. 31, 2009, and signed "CLINTON" in all capital letters. The cable, sent at 2:55 p.m. on New Year's Eve, and originating in the department's Bureau of Intelligence and Research, asked a series of other probing questions as part of what it said was an attempt by her office to understand "leadership dynamics" between Kirchner and her husband, former President Nestor Kirchner.

"How does stress affect her behavior toward advisors and/or her decision making?" the cable continued. "What steps does Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner or her advisers/handlers, take in helping her deal with stress? Is she taking any medications?" 

Deficit Solution Poll Shakes Out About Right

Asked to choose between two paths lawmakers could follow to balance the budget, 59 percent in the AP-CNBC Poll preferred cutting unspecified government services while 30 percent picked unspecified tax increases. Republicans leaned heavily toward service reductions while Democrats, usually staunch advocates of federal spending, were about evenly split between the two alternatives.

The poll results aren't surprising. Most Republicans favor cuts, half of Democrats do also, and then there are the extreme liberal minority that favors tax increases.

Who is out of touch with the mainstream, conservatives and the Tea Party or liberal Democrats? Somebody needs to move to the proverbial center and it isn't the Right.

Nowhere To Go

"There is no way that the new WikiLeaks leaks don't leave Hillary Clinton holding the smoking gun. The time for her departure may come next week or next month, but sooner or later, the weakened and humiliated Secretary of State will have to pay."

If the WikiLeaks scandal forces Clinton out, she will have nowhere to go.  No Senate seat and no power. The Clinton's in exile will be interesting to watch.
